So we've switched to the other side of Israel and the same thing is happening. Kings, Kings, and more Kings. They were all evil. Then a king named Ahab came along, who was worse than all of them. He married a woman named Jezebel. Ge whiz, even her name sounds bad! Now Elijah the Tishbite, from Tishbe [a] in Gilead, said to Ahab, "As the LORD, the God of Israel, lives, whom I serve, there will be neither dew nor rain in the next few years except at my word." Elijah is one of my favorite prophets. Then the word of the LORD came to Elijah: "Leave here, turn eastward and hide in the Kerith Ravine, east of the Jordan. You will drink from the brook, and I have ordered the ravens to feed you there." Whoooooo! Fed by ravens! That would be a pretty cool treat from GOD. So he did what the LORD had told him. He went to the Kerith Ravine, east of the Jordan, and stayed there. The ravens brought him bread and meat in the morning and bread and meat in the evening, and he drank from the brook. It makes you wonder were they got the bread and and meats.

Speaking of Reamboam, he dies after Egypt attacks. And Abijah his son succeeded him as king. He committed all the sins his father had done before him; his heart was not fully devoted to the LORD his God, as the heart of David his forefather had been. Nevertheless, for David's sake the LORD his God gave him a lamp in Jerusalem by raising up a son to succeed him and by making Jerusalem strong. For David had done what was right in the eyes of the LORD and had not failed to keep any of the LORD's commands all the days of his life—except in the case of Uriah the Hittite. They never talked about that. Asa becomes king of Judah Asa did what was right in the eyes of the LORD, as his father David had done. He expelled the male shrine prostitutes from the land and got rid of all the idols his fathers had made. He even deposed his grandmother Maacah from her position as queen mother, because she had made a repulsive Asherah pole. Asa cut the pole down and burned it in the Kidron Valley. Although he did not remove the high places, Asa's heart was fully committed to the LORD all his life. He brought into the temple of the LORD the silver and gold and the articles that he and his father had dedicated. I think it's cool that he would take own granny of the throne cuz she was building idols.

Even after this, Jeroboam did not change his evil ways, but once more appointed priests for the high places from all sorts of people. Anyone who wanted to become a priest he consecrated for the high places. This was the sin of the house of Jeroboam that led to its downfall and to its destruction from the face of the earth. This destruction thing happens later.

At that time Abijah son of Jeroboam became ill, so Jeroboam says, ' Wife, go and disgiuse yourself and speak to the prophet. He will tell you what will happen to our son. So she goes. The Lord tells the blind prophet who is really coming and he suprises her by saying,Come in, wife of Jeroboam. Why this pretense? I have been sent to you with bad news. Go, tell Jeroboam that this is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: 'I raised you up from among the people and made you a leader over my people Israel. I tore the kingdom away from the house of David and gave it to you, but you have not been like my servant David, who kept my commands and followed me with all his heart, doing only what was right in my eyes. You have done more evil than all who lived before you. You have made for yourself other gods, idols made of metal; you have provoked me to anger and thrust me behind your back.
" 'Because of this, I am going to bring disaster on the house of Jeroboam. I will cut off from Jeroboam every last male in Israel—slave or free. I will burn up the house of Jeroboam as one burns dung, until it is all gone. Dogs will eat those belonging to Jeroboam who die in the city, and the birds of the air will feed on those who die in the country. The LORD has spoken!'
"As for you, go back home. When you set foot in your city, the boy will die. All Israel will mourn for him and bury him. He is the only one belonging to Jeroboam who will be buried, because he is the only one in the house of Jeroboam in whom the LORD, the God of Israel, has found anything good. "
The only thing good! Poor poeple! He goes on to say that another king will overthrow Jeroboam. And every thing he says comes true.poor people that he rules over. they are probably better with Reaboam!

I read something. A man of God comes and rebukes the altar and the king. Then the king invited him to eat and drink with him. But the prophet said God told him not to. So the prophet continued on his way. Here's the weird part. Another prophet met him on the road and said to came eat with him. the 1st prophet said no but the 2nd prophet said, 'God said you could' He was lying, and the 1st prophet came and dined. Then he second prophet said, ' Cursed be you becuz of what you did! now you will not be buried in you're fathers tomb.' And he died that day, and wasn't buried in his fathers tomb. I don't think it's really wrong if He thought God said. What do ya think?

Today, I read on what those evil kings have been up to. Jeroboam is thinking, Once the people go for sacrifices they will turn back to God and go back to Reaboam. So he built two altars with golden calves on them and says, It is to far to go all the way to Jerusalem, here are you're gods that brought you out of Egypt. So they worshiped them. WHAT!?!?!?!?!!?!? Worshiped them? How could they be so clueless? That makes me kinda mad cuz it shows how strong their relationship with God was.

King Solomon, however, loved many foreign women besides Pharaoh's daughter—Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Sidonians and Hittites. They were from nations about which the LORD had told the Israelites, "You must not intermarry with them, because they will surely turn your hearts after their gods." Nevertheless, Solomon held fast to them in love. He had seven hundred wives of royal birth and three hundred concubines, and his wives led him astray. As Solomon grew old, his wives turned his heart after other gods, and his heart was not fully devoted to the LORD his God, as the heart of David his father had been. He followed Ashtoreth the goddess of the Sidonians, and Molech the detestable god of the Ammonites. So Solomon did evil in the eyes of the LORD; he did not follow the LORD completely, as David his father had done. So God says 'The kingdom will be divided after you die. You're son won't reign over all Israel, but only some of it.' So after Solomon dies:( his son is crowned. BUT... He consults with his friends and says, "My dad laid on you a haevy burden, so I'm gonna make it bigger. So ten tribes said, 'UGH! Forget you!' And they go crown someone else.

So now that you know what's happening what do you think? Samuel warned them that Kings would bring trouble. When we don't listen to what God's saying, we pay consequences.

Yesterday was the last day of my loving God book thingermujig. I was reading in my bible today and I saw something cool. The queen of sheeba visited Solomon. She asked him a whole lot of hard questions and he answered them all. When the queen of Sheba saw all the wisdom of Solomon and the palace he had built, the food on his table, the seating of his officials, the attending servants in their robes, his cupbearers, and the burnt offerings he made at the temple of the LORD, she was overwhelmed.
She said to the king, "The report I heard in my own country about your achievements and your wisdom is true. But I did not believe these things until I came and saw with my own eyes. Indeed, not even half was told me; in wisdom and wealth you have far exceeded the report I heard. How happy your men must be! How happy your officials, who continually stand before you and hear your wisdom! Praise be to the LORD your God, who has delighted in you and placed you on the throne of Israel. Because of the LORD's eternal love for Israel, he has made you king, to maintain justice and righteousness."
And she gave the king 120 talents of gold, large quantities of spices, and precious stones. Never again were so many spices brought in as those the queen of Sheba gave to King Solomon.
I think it was kind of cool how she credited both Solomon and God. The Bible also talks about how everyone came from all over the world to see him.Solomon was obiously famous.
