The LORD reigns, he is robed in majesty; the LORD is robed in majesty and is armed with strength. The world is firmly established; it cannot be moved. Your throne was established long ago; you are from all eternity. The seas have lifted up, O LORD, the seas have lifted up their voice; the seas have lifted up their pounding waves. Mightier than the thunder of the great waters, mightier than the breakers of the sea— the LORD on high is mighty. Your statutes stand firm; holiness adorns your house for endless days, O LORD.

The LORD is amazing! He is more incredible than anyone can even say. I guess David just really had the the need to pour out his honor, his thanksgiving,  and his praise out to God right then in those five verses.

He who dwells in the secret place of the most high, shall abide under the shadow of the almighty. I will say of the Lord, he is my refuge and my fortress, my God in him I will trust. Surely he shall deliver you from the snare of the fouler and from the perilous pestilence. He shall cover you with his feathers and under his wings you shall take refuge, his truth shall be your shield and buckler. You will not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day, nor of the pestilenece that walks in darkness, nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday. A thousand will fall at your side, and ten thousand at you right hand, but it will not come near you. only with your eyes will you look and see the reward of the wicked. Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge, even the most high, your habitation, no evil shall befall you nor shall any plague come near your dwelling.  For he shall give his angels charge over you to keep you in all your ways. The shall bear you up in their hands lest you dash you foot against a stone. You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra, the young lion and the serpent you will trample underfoot. Because he has set his love upon me therefore I will deliver him. I will set him on high because he has known my name. He will call upon me and I will answer him, I will deliver him, and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him, and shaow him my salvation.

That's a very conforting chapter, But I noticed that some of the psalm is the writer that's talking, and some of it's God talking.

Satisfy us in the morning with your unfailing love, that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days.

What better ways are theyr'e to start the day than to get up and read the bible! And it says: that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days.

I was reading psalm 90, And the title caught my eye:

A prayer of Moses the man of God.

Isn't that amazing? Moses was The Man Of God. That would be a lot of responsibility.

I have found David my servant; with my sacred oil I have anointed him. My hand will sustain him; surely my arm will strengthen him.  No enemy will subject him to tribute; no wicked man will oppress him. I will crush his foes before him and strike down his adversaries.

Wow. Put yourself in David's shoes. How blessed you would be! To have the hand of God on you so that you don't even have to worry - about anything. It gives David a lot of reasons to praise God.

Come, let us sing for joy to the LORD; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song.  For the LORD is the great God, the great King above all gods. In his hand are the depths of the earth, and the mountain peaks belong to him.  The sea is his, for he made it, and his hands formed the dry land.  Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the LORD our Maker; for he is our God and we are the people of his pasture, the flock under his care.
Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as you did at Meribah, as you did that day at Massah in the desert, where your fathers tested and tried me, though they had seen what I did. For forty years I was angry with that generation; I said, "They are a people whose hearts go astray, and they have not known my ways."  So I declared on oath in my anger, "They shall never enter my rest."

This psalm was just spewing out it's praise to GOD in the first half. But when it reaches about the half line, they go WAY  off course! Why did they mean? why were they even talking about that? What did it have too do with anything?

Why, O LORD, do you reject me and hide your face from me? From my youth I have been afflicted and close to death; I have suffered your terrors and am in despair. Your wrath has swept over me; your terrors have destroyed me. All day long they surround me like a flood; they have completely engulfed me. You have taken my companions and loved ones from me; the darkness is my closest friend.

Yikes. Gloom and despair. You notice he says that he was like this from his youth? And yet he still trust's in God, all the time:

But I cry to you for help, O LORD; in the morning my prayer comes before you.
