CANADA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sarcasm. A bad habit in our house. So, the keyword, Canada helps. Whenever you say something sarcastic, someone calls a Canada on you. Then, you have to pay a quarter to the fun bank. I've gotten two Canadas yesterday and a Canada today. What is wrong with me? A scripure says:
Exodus 14:11
They said to Moses, "Was it because there were no graves in Egypt that you brought us to the desert to die? What have you done to us by bringing us out of Egypt? Sarcasm. There are alot of when people be sarcastic in the Bible but nothing tells us how we can prevent it or even to stop! Stange huh?

King Solomon sent to Tyre and brought Huram, whose mother was a widow from the tribe of Naphtali and whose father was a man of Tyre and a craftsman in bronze. Huram was highly skilled and experienced in all kinds of bronze work. He came to King Solomon and did all the work assigned to him.
And he did a lot. Imagine making something for the king!
He made the Sea of cast metal, circular in shape, measuring ten cubits from rim to rim and five cubits high. It took a line of thirty cubits to measure around it. Below the rim, gourds encircled it—ten to a cubit. The gourds were cast in two rows in one piece with the Sea. The Sea stood on twelve bulls, three facing north, three facing west, three facing south and three facing east. The Sea rested on top of them, and their hindquarters were toward the center. It was a handbreadth in thickness, and its rim was like the rim of a cup, like a lily blossom. It held two thousand baths.
Sea of cast metal? What's that? I'm completely confuzeled with all of that part. So after that guy was finished...
Solomon also made all the furnishings that were in the LORD's temple: the golden altar; the golden table on which was the bread of the Presence;
the lampstands of pure gold (five on the right and five on the left, in front of the inner sanctuary the gold floral work and lamps and tongs; the pure gold basins, wick trimmers, sprinkling bowls, dishes and censers; and the gold sockets for the doors of the innermost room, the Most Holy Place, and also for the doors of the main hall of the temple.
Wait, Solomon made all that? Not his workers? Only him? Once all that was done he put the stuff that David dedicated in the treasuries.

Solomon is building the Temple. As I read, it described how the temple looked and how tall or fat or short it was, and how many stories it had, and how the inside looked, etc. etc. etc. Then I realized how interesting it really was. Leviticus is one of the most boring book of the bible, but with a little imagination, you could make it amazingly fun to read. As you start to love the Bible more, you start to grow a bigger, better relationship with God. I thought that was kinda cool

peacock feather

Finally, a computer that can go to the Internet! Anyway, we went to the zoo. While were there, I found a tiny peacock feather. It was Sooooooo pretty! As I looked at it, I thought of how much God's splendor showed it that tiny little thing. God had made that on the 5th day. JUST ONE DAY! Not only that but he made every other fish and bird in that day too! God can demonstrate all of his power in just a tiny little peakock feather that Mom stepped on. Oh the glory of it all.

1 kings

As you should guess, David's really old. Adonijah, one of his sons decides to go out and declare himself king. He got Joab and a few other to help him out and had a feast. HOW MANY DECEITFUL SONS DOES DAVID HAVE????????? Is it because he didn't train to be Godly? Cuz Solomon was very Godly. A stilll faithful preist and Adonijah's mother said to David, 'You said Solomon was gonna be king! How then is Adonijah having a feast for himself and sacrificing bulls and goats, and every one around him is saying long live the king.?!' David took action. Soon, everyone was saying 'Long live King Solomon!!'
When the time drew near for David to die, he gave a charge to Solomon his son. He said, "Be strong, show yourself a man, and observe what the LORD your God requires: Walk in his ways, and keep his decrees and commands, his laws and requirements, as written in the Law of Moses, so that you may prosper in all you do and wherever you go, and that the LORD may keep his promise to me: 'If your descendants watch how they live, and if they walk faithfully before me with all their heart and soul, you will never fail to have a man on the throne of Israel.' "Now you yourself know what Joab son of Zeruiah did to me—what he did to the two commanders of Israel's armies, Abner son of Ner and Amasa son of Jether. He killed them, shedding their blood in peacetime as if in battle, and with that blood stained the belt around his waist and the sandals on his feet. Deal with him according to your wisdom, but do not let his gray head go down to the grave in peace.
"But show kindness to the sons of Barzillai of Gilead and let them be among those who eat at your table. They stood by me when I fled from your brother Absalom.
"And remember, you have with you Shimei son of Gera, the Benjamite from Bahurim, who called down bitter curses on me the day I went to Mahanaim. When he came down to meet me at the Jordan, I swore to him by the LORD : 'I will not put you to death by the sword.' But now, do not consider him innocent. You are a man of wisdom; you will know what to do to him. Bring his gray head down to the grave in blood."
Then David rested with his fathers and was buried in the City of David. He had reigned forty years over Israel—seven years in Hebron and thirty-three in Jerusalem. So Solomon sat on the throne of his father David, and his rule was firmly established.
David was so cool, why did he have to die? I would do anything to half as wise or good as him.

The rest of the Samuel Books

David wanted to have his men counted. Joab told him he didn't need to do it, and that he shouldn't, But David didn't listen. Once he got the numbers he knew he had sinned. God sent someone to David he said: "Shall there come upon you three years of famine in your land? Or three months of fleeing from your enemies while they pursue you? Or three days of plague in your land? Now then, think it over and decide how I should answer the one who sent me." David chose the three days of Plague. So the LORD sent a plague on Israel from that morning until the end of the time designated, and seventy thousand of the people from Dan to Beersheba died. 16 When the angel stretched out his hand to destroy Jerusalem, the LORD was grieved because of the calamity and said to the angel who was afflicting the people, "Enough! Withdraw your hand." The angel of the LORD was then at the threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite. So David bought the threshing floor of the man and built an altar. David felt guilty. He was the one who did something bad and the people had to suffer. He felt really bad. How was counting men anything really bad?

2 Sameul 21 - 22

There was a famine for three successive years; so David sought the face of the LORD. The LORD said, "It is on account of Saul and his blood-stained house; it is because he put the Gibeonites to death." Now the Gibeonites were not a part of Israel but were survivors of the Ammonites; the Israelites had sworn to spare them, but Saul in his zeal for Israel and Judah had tried to annihilate them.) David asked the Gibeonites, "What shall I do for you? How shall I make amends so that you will bless the Lord's inheritance?" The Gibeonites said they wanted to kill seven of Saul's descendants, exposed before the LORD. What does exposed mean? The king gave them what they requested, but he spared Mephibosheth. So the gibeonites were avenged. Do you think David should of given them that? You think God was pleased? I think if they were avenging blood, then that wouldn't of been wrong.
The philistines went to war against Israel. David and his army went, and David got tired. One of the philistines said, I will kill David. But one of davids men killed the man. After the victory, the men said, Never go with us to war again! You will only get killed. David sang a song of praise to God. (Psalm 18)

Wednesday, November 19, 2008

David's men were getting ready to go to war. David's men told him not to go saying, "If we have to flee they will only pursue you, for a thousand of our men isn't important to them and our whole army isn't important to them, your what their after." So David did not go. Do you think that was right off David? If he was the King, no matter what the danger, I think he should go. He's their King. So David told them all, 'spare my son for my sake.' Absalom was fleeing. He was riding on a mule. The mule passed a large branch. Absalom's hair got stuck on the branch, and he hung there. When one of the men saw him he reported him to Joab. Joab scolded him for not killing Absalom and killed Absalom himself. David was heart broken. The men came back rejoicing until they heard David weeping for his son. Joab went up and said to David, 'Today you have put all your men in humiliation! You showed that you love those who hate you and hate those who love you! If you don't go out and thank and congratulate the troops, then no mman will be with you by nightfall!' So david went out to his troops. I wouldn't be so bold to go up there if I was the one who killed Absalom!

David Flees

Once David heard the horrible news, He left the castle, with only ten women to keep to it. He went up to a mountain, and many people followed him. David sent a wise man, and a few priests to Absalom's side. His plan worked. Ahithophel, the other wise man that was on Absalom's side said to Absalom, "I would choose twelve thousand men and set out tonight in pursuit of David. I would attack him while he is weary and weak. I would strike him with terror, and then all the people with him will flee. I would strike down only the king and bring all the people back to you. The death of the man you seek will mean the return of all; all the people will be unharmed." This plan seemed good to Absalom and to all the elders of Israel. But Hushai said to Absalom, "The advice Ahithophel has given is not good this time. You know your father and his men; they are fighters, and as fierce as a wild bear robbed of her cubs. Besides, your father is an experienced fighter; he will not spend the night with the troops. Even now, he is hidden in a cave or some other place. If he should attack your troops first, whoever hears about it will say, 'There has been a slaughter among the troops who follow Absalom.' Then even the bravest soldier, whose heart is like the heart of a lion, will melt with fear, for all Israel knows that your father is a fighter and that those with him are brave. '"So I advise you: Let all Israel, from Dan to Beersheba—as numerous as the sand on the seashore—be gathered to you, with you yourself leading them into battle. Then we will attack him wherever he may be found, and we will fall on him as dew settles on the ground. Neither he nor any of his men will be left alive. If he withdraws into a city, then all Israel will bring ropes to that city, and we will drag it down to the valley until not even a piece of it can be found." The Lord made Absalom think that this advice was better.Hushai told Zadok and Abiathar, the priests, 'Now send a message immediately and tell David, 'Do not spend the night at the fords in the desert; cross over without fail, or the king and all the people with him will be swallowed up.' So that Day David escaped his son. What do think he thought about Absolom? He didn't want to kill him but to slow him down. He was either sad or angry. You can't exactly tell which.

2 Samuel 15

AFTER THIS, Absalom got a chariot and horses, and fifty men to run before him. And he rose up early and stood beside the gateway; and when any man who had a controversy came to the king for judgment, Absalom called to him, Of what city are you? And he would say, Your servant is of such and such a tribe of Israel.

Absalom would say to him, Your claims are good and right, but there is no man appointed as the king's agent to hear you.

Absalom added, Oh, that I were judge in the land! Then every man with any suit or cause might come to me and I would do him justice!

And whenever a man came near to do obeisance to him, he would put out his hand, take hold of him, and kiss him. He did this so he could win the hearts of the people, and they would want him to be king instead of Solomon. One day he said to David, 'Dad,I have to go complete a vow in Hebron.' So he went. but instead of the vow, he sent spies throughout the Land and told them that when the trumpet sounded, to say, 'Absalom is king!' Then two hundred men went with Absalom from Jerusalem, who were invited and went innocently, and they did not know anything. Poor people. Poor David. Absalom Is deceiving everyone! Imagine what would happen when David finds out. Do you think he would completely crush Absalom! What would he do?

But God was not at all pleased with what David had done, and sent Nathan to David. Nathan said to him, "There were two men in the same city—one rich, the other poor. The rich man had huge flocks of sheep, herds of cattle. The poor man had nothing but one little female lamb, which he had bought and raised. It grew up with him and his children as a member of the family. It ate off his plate and drank from his cup and slept on his bed. It was like a daughter to him. "One day a traveler dropped in on the rich man. He was too stingy to take an animal from his own herds or flocks to make a meal for his visitor, so he took the poor man's lamb and prepared a meal to set before his guest. David exploded. "That stingy man should give Four Times what he took away from the poor man!!!!!!!!!!!"
"You are that man." Nathan said and explained the bad thing he did. Then he said, "God says:I made you king over Israel. I freed you from the fist of Saul. I gave you your master's daughter and other wives to have and to hold. I gave you both Israel and Judah. And if that hadn't been enough, I'd have gladly thrown in much more. So why have you treated the word of God with brazen contempt, doing this great evil? You murdered Uriah the Hittite, then took his wife as your wife. Worse, you killed him with an Ammonite sword! And now, because you treated God with such contempt and took Uriah the Hittite's wife as your wife, killing and murder will continually plague your family."Then David confessed to Nathan, "I've sinned against God."
Nathan pronounced, "Yes, but that's not the last word. God forgives your sin. You won't die for it. But because of your blasphemous behavior, the son born to you will die." That same day the little boy became sick. David wept and fasted for a week until his son died. When he did,David got up, worshiped and then ate. His servants asked, 'Why didyou weep when the baby was still living?'
' Becuase I thought to myself, waybe God will bring himback to me. But now that he is dead, what use is it to fast and cry? It won't bring him back.' When Nathan saidhe wouldn't die but son would, Does that mean the first punishment was called off?

Tuesday, November 11, 2008

When I got up this morning I was SLEEEPY! But, I still read. Today the Ammonites king died. So they made his son be king. So David thinks, 'I should go be kind to him because his father was kind to me!' David's always trying to show kindness to someone. I should work on that. So David sent a delegation to express his sympathy to Hanun concerning his father. But when the men came to him he cut half of their beards off, cut off their garments in the middle at the buttocks, and sent them away. They were humiliated so David sent them to Jericho until their beards grew back. One Day while David was standing on is rooftop, he saw a woman bathing. JWIHRJE!!!!!!!!!! I would fall off the whole casle if I saw that! But he thought she was beautful and they slept together. I don't undersand how a man so holy would possibly be able to do that!!!! And on top of that she was married! He put her husband in the front row of the army and he died. Then he married her. But God was not pleased with what David had done.

Guess what?

Mom's gonna have a baby! Thank you LORD! I'm Soooo exited

God gave David victory wherever he went. David conquered everything he attacked. He also became famous for killing 18,000 Edomites in the Valley of Salt. All by himself?
One day, David asked if there was anyone left from Sauls decendants that he could show kindness to for Johnathans sake. That's loyalty. Trying to keep a promise with someone even when he's dead by doing it to his sons! There was a man who was lame, one of Johnathan's sons. Or, maybe the only ne, I'm not sure. He was brought before the king. 'Don't be scared.' David said."I have given you everything that belonged to Saul and his family. You will always eat at my table." That was sweeeet.

Thursday, November 6, 2008

David was bringing the Ark of God back to Zion. Uzzah, who was with the party protected it from falling when one of the oxen who were carrying it slipped. God killed him insantly. Why did God do that if he was protecting it? David was so mad that he put the Ark into someones elses house and later he brought it back.He also wanted to make a house for the Ark of God. But God said that Davids son would do it. So David, being the smart guy that he is, got everything ready for his son. What would you describe David as? Smart, wise, loyal, everything a good king should be.

Wednesday, November 5, 2008

Sons were born to David at Hebron: his firstborn was Amnon
and his second, Chileab, by Abigail; and the third, Absalom; and the fourth, Adonijah; and the fifth, Shephatiah; and the sixth, Ithream. These were born to David at Hebron. Davids having war with the remainder of people that used to be with Saul. When Ish-Bosheth son of Saul heard that Abner had died in Hebron, he lost courage, and all Israel became alarmed. Now Saul's son had two men who were leaders of raiding bands. One was named Baanah and the other Recab; they were sons of Rimmon the Beerothite from the tribe of Benjamin. Now Recab and Baanah, the sons of Rimmon the Beerothite, set out for the house of Ish-Bosheth, and they arrived there in the heat of the day while he was taking his noonday rest. 6 They went into the inner part of the house as if to get some wheCheck Spellingat, and they stabbed him in the stomach. Then Recab and his brother Baanah slipped away.
They had gone into the house while he was lying on the bed in his bedroom. After they stabbed and killed him, they cut off his head. Taking it with them, they traveled all night by way of the Arabah. 8 They brought the head of Ish-Bosheth to David at Hebron and said to the king, "Here is the head of Ish-Bosheth son of Saul, your enemy, who tried to take your life. This day the LORD has avenged my lord the king against Saul and his offspring." David killed them too. Even when Saul's dead David still protects him!

Tuesday, November 4, 2008

I'm in 2 Samuel! Nothing I read today is anything spectacular. Except for this. David was really upset about Saul dieing He killed the Amilikite that lied telling David he killed Saul. The Amalikite thought David hated Saul wanting to get credit. David tore his clothes and wept. I'm amazed that he loved Saul for the sake of God. Everything that Saul did David forgave. It's amazing.

Monday, November 3, 2008

Okay, big battle going on. Johnathan and his brothers died. Saul was injured badly and he told his armor bearor to kill him. I wouldn't do it either. So Saul had kill himself. Was that right to put himself to waste like that even if he knew he was gonna die anyway? But that day the armor bearor killed himself too and all Saul's men died. I wonder what Davids going to think about this. I would be happy and sad. Happy cuz you get to be King next and sad cuz he died. (even though he was a bad king.)

Friday, October 31, 2008

The Philistines gathered all their forces at Aphek, and Israel camped by the spring in Jezreel. As the Philistine rulers marched with their units of hundreds and thousands, David and his men were marching at the rear with Achish. The commanders of the Philistines asked, "What about these Hebrews?" Achish Said, "Oh don't worry. I've been with him for a year and I found no fault in him." David is awesome if God is to bless him so much that He's done nothing wrong in like a year! I want to be like that. But the Philistine commanders were angry with him and said, "Send the man back, that he may return to the place you assigned him. He must not go with us into battle, or he will turn against us during the fighting." So Achish told David and David went back to the land.
When David and his men came to Ziklag, they found it destroyed by fire and their wives and sons and daughters taken captive. So David and his men wept aloud until they had no strength left to weep. David's two wives had been captured—Ahinoam of Jezreel and Abigail, the widow of Nabal of Carmel. David was greatly distressed because the men were talking of stoning him; each one was bitter in spirit because of his sons and daughters. But David found strength in the LORD his God. David ROCKS! He seeks God in every hour and remembers him even in his trouble. David inquired of the LORD, "Shall I pursue this raiding party? Will I overtake them?" "Pursue them," he answered. "You will certainly overtake them and succeed in the rescue." An old Egyptian slave led David down, and there they were, scattered over the countryside, eating, drinking and reveling because of the great amount of plunder they had taken from the land of the Philistines and from Judah. David fought them from dusk until the evening of the next day, and none of them got away, except four hundred young men who rode off on camels and fled. David recovered everything the Amalekites had taken, including his two wives. Nothing was missing: young or old, boy or girl, plunder or anything else they had taken. David brought everything back. He took all the flocks and herds, and his men drove them ahead of the other livestock, saying, "This is David's plunder."

Thursday, October 30, 2008

Then David said to himself, "Now I will perish one day by the hand of Saul. There is nothing better for me than to escape into the land of the Philistines. Saul then will despair of searching for me anymore in all the territory of Israel, and I will escape from his hand." So David fled to Gath and Saul stopped hunting for him. So, after he says he won't get him twice, he finally gives up. Do you think it was cuz he thought he shouldn't be doing that anyway? Did he think that finding David was the right thing to do? David lived in the country of the Philistines was a year and four months.
The NIV. calls this chapter: Saul and the Witch of Endor. When Saul goes out to battle against the Philistines, he was afraid. He asked God for help, but God didnt' answer. I would be scared too. So he calls a witch to bring Samuel back for a while. Saul Asked Samuel and Samuel said that the kindom was torn from him. He and his sons would die and David would take his place. And this was punishment for not dealing with the Amalikites. The woman and his men urged him to eat and he did. The woman had a fattened calf at the house, which she butchered at once. She took some flour, kneaded it and baked bread without yeast. Then she set it before Saul and his men, and they ate. That same night they got up and left.

David keeps shamig Saul!

This chapter is called David shames Saul. Well, David cut off a little of Saul's robe while Saul was taking a break from trying to find him. But David was ashamed that he did even that to what he called his master. I would call that loyalty to God. If God appointed him, evil or not, then he has no right to do even that! I think that was neat and that I should try to consider others in a similar way. after showing and king Saul what he had done, Saul stopped chasing, but David had to promised not to harm him or his descendants. After Samuel died, there was great sadness throughout all Israel. But now David shamed Saul again! Samuel dieing really has nothing to do with any thing. He just died.Poor saul. He seems like a bad, confuzed man.

Tuesday, October 28, 2008

One day David was told that the philistines were attacking Keilah. he inquired of the Lord if they should attack. Now something I've noticed about David is that he asks God about everything. I need to do that more than I do. Cuz I don't do it very often when I should. But David's men said to him, "Here in Judah we are afraid. How much more, then, if we go to Keilah against the Philistine forces!" If God said to fight it means your'e gonna win. It's not like God would send you out to a war to lose! Once again David inquired of the LORD, and the LORD answered him, "Go down to Keilah, for I am going to give the Philistines into your hand." So David and his men went to Keilah, fought the Philistines and carried off their livestock. He inflicted heavy losses on the Philistines and saved the people of Keilah. (Abiathar son of Ahimelech had brought the ephod down with him when he fled to David at Keilah.) When David inquired of God, did God actually talk to him in words saying he was gonna have victory? Well, when Saul heard that David came to Keilah, a city with walls, he pursued him, thinking, The Lord has given him into my hands! Did he not know that he is doing wrong? Once David found out that Saul was pursueing him he asked God David asked, "Will the citizens of Keilah surrender me and my men to Saul?" And the LORD said, "They will." So David fled. Did God want him to do that? David stayed in the desert strongholds and in the hills of the Desert of Ziph. Day after day Saul searched for him, but God did not give David into his hands.

Monday, October 27, 2008

So after some provisions from the priest, David again fled from Saul. David reached Gath. He was afraid of the king there and acted like a madman. He left gath andcame to a cave where he became a leader of four hundred men. When Saul found out that A preist helped David, he put an end to all of them. But Abiathar, a son of Ahimelech son of Ahitub, escaped and fled to join David. He told David that Saul had killed the priests of the LORD. Then David said to Abiathar: "That day, when Doeg the Edomite was there, I knew he would be sure to tell Saul. I am responsible for the death of your father's whole family. Stay with me; don't be afraid; the man who is seeking your life is seeking mine also. You will be safe with me."

Wednesday, October 22, 2008

Saul told his son Jonathan and all the attendants to kill David. But Jonathan was very fond of David and warned him, "My father Saul is looking for a chance to kill you. Be on your guard tomorrow morning; go into hiding and stay there. I will go out and stand with my father in the field where you are. I'll speak to him about you and will tell you what I find out."

Jonathan spoke well of David to Saul his father and said to him, "Let not the king do wrong to his servant David; he has not wronged you, and what he has done has benefited you greatly. He took his life in his hands when he killed the Philistine. The LORD won a great victory for all Israel, and you saw it and were glad. Why then would you do wrong to an innocent man like David by killing him for no reason?" So Saul swore to never kill him. But alas, an evil spirit came upon him and he threw his spear at David who was playing him harp. David evaded it. That night David made good his escape. Saul sent men to David's house to watch it and to kill him in the morning. But Michal, David's wife, warned him, "If you don't run for your life tonight, tomorrow you'll be killed." So Michal let David down through a window, and he fled and escaped. Then Michal took an idol and laid it on the bed, covering it with a garment and putting some goats' hair at the head. She is a brave woman. When Saul sent the men to capture David, Michal said, "He is ill." Then Saul sent the men back to see David and told them, "Bring him up to me in his bed so that I may kill him." But when the men entered, there was the idol in the bed, and at the head was some goats' hair. And she's smart too. David had fled to Samuel and Saul's men pursued him. But along the road, they saw some prophets prophesying and they started doing it too.So Saul went to Naioth at Ramah. But the Spirit of God came even upon him, and he walked along prophesying until he came to Naioth.

Saul's being grumpy

So Saul's so happy with David that he let him be a high army commander. Johnathan also loved him and he and David promised to keep each other safe. When the men were returning home after David had killed the Philistine, the women came out from all the towns of Israel to meet King Saul with singing and dancing, with joyful songs and with tambourines and lutes. As they danced, they sang: "Saul has slain his thousands, and David his tens of thousands."
Saul was very angry; this refrain galled him. "They have credited David with tens of thousands," he thought, "but me with only thousands. What more can he get but the kingdom?" The next day an evil spirit from God came forcefully upon Saul. He was prophesying in his house, while David was playing the harp, as he usually did. Saul had a spear in his hand 11 and he hurled it, saying to himself, "I'll pin David to the wall." But David eluded him twice. EMBARRASSING! And from that time on Saul kept a jealous eye on David. Saul said to David, "Here is my older daughter Merab. I will give her to you in marriage; only serve me bravely and fight the battles of the LORD." For Saul said to himself, "I will not raise a hand against him. Let the Philistines do that!" His little "plan" didn't work making him very angry. The Philistine commanders continued to go out to battle, and as often as they did, David met with more success than the rest of Saul's officers, and his name became well known.

Monday, October 20, 2008

The Lord had rejected Saul as king and David was anointed. But he could not be king untill Saul had died. Saul and the Israelites assembled and camped in the Valley of Elah and drew up their battle line to meet the Philistines. The Philistines occupied one hill and the Israelites another, with the valley between them. So, as people lining up for war usualy did, they shouted at each other. Exept, the Israelites weren't shouting. Only Goliath. So you know the story. One thing that stuck out is that you could tell how confident David was in God. When Goliath said, " Am I a dog that you come at me with sticks?"
"You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the LORD Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. This day the LORD will hand you over to me, and I'll strike you down and cut off your head. Today I will give the carcasses of the Philistine army to the birds of the air and the beasts of the earth, and the whole world will know that there is a God in Israel. All those gathered here will know that it is not by sword or spear that the LORD saves; for the battle is the LORD's, and he will give all of you into our hands." He is completly counting on God to do anything.

The Philistines took out all the blacksmiths so that no one had any weapons except Saul and Johnathan. One day Jonathan son of Saul said to the young man bearing his armor, "Come, let's go over to the Philistine outpost on the other side." But he did not tell his father. So no one was aware that Jonathan had left. Jonathan said to his young armor-bearer, "Come, let's go over to the outpost of those uncircumcised fellows. Perhaps the LORD will act in our behalf. Nothing can hinder the LORD from saving, whether by many or by few." What does that mean?"Do all that you have in mind," his armor-bearer said. "Go ahead; I am with you heart and soul."

Jonathan said, "Come, then; we will cross over toward the men and let them see us. If they say to us, 'Wait there until we come to you,' we will stay where we are and not go up to them. But if they say, 'Come up to us,' we will climb up, because that will be our sign that the LORD has given them into our hands." So both of them showed themselves to the Philistine outpost. "Look!" said the Philistines. "The Hebrews are crawling out of the holes they were hiding in." The men of the outpost shouted to Jonathan and his armor-bearer, "Come up to us and we'll teach you a lesson."
So Jonathan said to his armor-bearer, "Climb up after me; the LORD has given them into the hand of Israel."Jonathan climbed up, using his hands and feet, with his armor-bearer right behind him. The Philistines fell before Jonathan, and his armor-bearer followed and killed behind him. In that first attack Jonathan and his armor-bearer killed some twenty men in an area of about half an acre.
Then panic struck the whole army—those in the camp and field, and those in the outposts and raiding parties—and the ground shook. It was a panic sent by God. That day the Philistines were routed.

The Amonites are attaking the Israelites. The Israelites say: Make a treaty with us. The Amonites say: Not unless we take one of your eyes out and emmbarass you! The Israelites were given seven days to call for help. When the news reached saul, the spirit of the LORD came upon him. He mustered up so many guys-

The next day Saul separated his men into three divisions; during the last watch of the night they broke into the camp of the Ammonites and slaughtered them until the heat of the day. Those who survived were scattered, so that no two of them were left together. That day Saul was confirmed as King. Now Samuel is making his goodbye speech thats very long.

Tuesday, October 14, 2008

Samuel anointed Saul's head and kissed him. Then, once he was told he was supposed to be king,Samuel told him three signs that would come true and the spirit of the LORD would come upon him. And all the things came true. When he got home, everyone asked him what took him so long, Saul told them that he had been assured by Samuel that the donkeys were found but he did not tell about being the king.
Samel started to name the tribe, and the tribe of Benjamine was chosen. Then he started to name the clans, and the clan of Matrni was chosen. Then Saul was chosen. When they looked for Saul, he was not there. God said he was hiding among the baggage. So they looked for him. Was it that he didn't want to be king? They brought him out and the people exclaimed "LONG LIVE THE KING!!!!!"

Saul also went to his home in Gibeah, accompanied by valiant men whose hearts God had touched. But some troublemakers said, "How can this fellow save us?" They despised him and brought him no gifts. But Saul kept silent. I don't think they would be trouble makers. They shoudn't have a king anyway.

Marble Mischief

That's right, Marbles. Bump, a game one of my relations made up includes marbles, and cards. Lane, Sticks, J man, Mom, and I were playing. J man was with Mom who was on my team. I was supposed to be with Bird, but, I could see she wasn't cooperating so she was playing with the large bucket of marbles. She would drop a few, pick them up, put them on the board, etc. etc. After a while, there was a loud crash, as marbles went rolling everywhere. I, apparently, was the first one to see. So, being the nearest, I extended my arms, trapping a lot of the marbles that were still on the table. By then the whole place was in action, catching or picking up marbles. Meanwhile, Dad goes, "WHAT HAPPENED?" And Bird is almost in tears saying, "I'm sowwy." What a way to give the night a little fun!

Two Kings?

Okay, the point is the people want to appoint another King. Another? You ask. Yes, another becuz Gods already the king. I wonder if I would be tempted to do that if Samuel gave his two evil sons as Judges. Sam prayed, and asked God what he should do. God said : "Give them a king. It is not you they rejected, but me. They've been rejecting me ever since I brought them out of Egypt, forsaking me and serving other gods, as they are doing to you. But warn them and tell them what a King will do to them." When Samuel told the people what would happen to them, they were stubborn and still wanted a King. " No!" They said, "We want a king over us. Then we can be like all the other nations, with a king to lead us and to go out before us and fight our battles!" If they hadn't noticed all the other nations are the bad guys. So Samuel found the one who God wanted, he appeared wise, he was handsome, and a head taller from any other man. When Samuel saw him God told him that he was the man God was looking for. Saul dined with Samuel that day.
The next day they went on the roof top and Saul got ready to go. Samuel told the servant to go ahead of them becuz he had a message from the Lord to Saul.

Tuesday, October 7, 2008

The people of Israel mourned and sought after the Lord. Samuel said if they were really willing to serve the Lord, then they had to put away their idols, which they gladly did. Then Samuel said for them to assemble at Mizpah and he was going to pray for them. They fasted and poured water for the Lord. When the philistines heard where they were and what they were doing, they attacked. The Israelites heard and said to Samuel: "Do not stop praying for us!" They must have been awful scared. I mean, they just put away their idols, and who knows the Lord's still gonna fight with them, I would be scared! Samuel sent a burnt offering to the Lord and cried out on Israels behalf, and the Lord answered him. As the Philistines were about to engage in battle, God sent a thunder storm upon them and they fled. The Israelites pursued them and slaughtered some of them. God is so creative. He sends so many different punishments to different people.

The Ark gets Returned to Israel

After the Ark had been in the Philistines hands for 7 months, they called all their wise men and priests and asked them what the people should do. They said to give it back with a present to go with it and you will be healed. "You should send them 5 gold tumors and 5 gold rats." RATS!? Whats that supposed to mean? Who would want a gold statue of a rat? "Now then, get a new cart ready, with two cows that have calved and have never been yoked. Hitch the cows to the cart, but take their calves away and pen them up. Take the ark of the LORD and put it on the cart, and in a chest beside it put the gold objects you are sending back to him as a guilt offering. Send it on its way, but keep watching it. If it goes up to its own territory, toward Beth Shemesh, then the LORD has brought this great disaster on us. But if it does not, then we will know that it was not his hand that struck us and that it happened to us by chance." Can you guess what happened? Yep. The cows went strait along the road, not in thier own territory. Now the people of Beth Shemesh were harvesting their wheat in the valley, and when they looked up and saw the ark, they rejoiced at the sight. The cart came to the field of Joshua of Beth Shemesh, and there it stopped beside a large rock. The people chopped up the wood of the cart and sacrificed the cows as a burnt offering to the LORD. The Levites took down the ark of the LORD, together with the chest containing the gold objects, and placed them on the large rock. On that day the people of Beth Shemesh offered burnt offerings and made sacrifices to the LORD. The five rulers of the Philistines saw all this and then returned that same day to Ekron. But God struck down some of the men of Beth Shemesh, putting seventy of them to death because they had looked into the ark of the LORD.The people mourned because of the heavy blow the LORD had dealt them, and the men of Beth Shemesh asked, "Who can stand in the presence of the LORD, this holy God? To whom will the ark go up from here?"

1st Sammy 5

Here it reads: After the Philistines had captured the ark of God, they took it from Ebenezer to Ashdod. Then they carried the ark into Dagon's temple and set it beside Dagon. When the people of Ashdod rose early the next day, there was Dagon, fallen on his face on the ground before the ark of the LORD! They took Dagon and put him back in his place. But the following morning when they rose, there was Dagon, fallen on his face on the ground before the ark of the LORD! His head and hands had been broken off and were lying on the threshold; only his body remained. That is why to this day neither the priests of Dagon nor any others who enter Dagon's temple at Ashdod step on the threshold. God knows how to take care of them! Well as you can imagine, they were scared stiff. Plus, many of their people got sick and died. When the men of Ashdod saw what was happening, they said, "The ark of the god of Israel must not stay here with us, because his hand is heavy upon us and upon Dagon our god." So they called together all the rulers of the Philistines and asked them, "What shall we do with the ark of the god of Israel?"
They answered, "Have the ark of the god of Israel moved to Gath." So they moved the ark of the God of Israel.
But of course, the same thing happened. So they moved it again! This time the people saw it coming and made plans to take it away. Smart people.

1st Samuel 4

The Israelites went out to fight against the Philistines. The Bible didn't say they had god's approval so this could be really bad. So it turnes out we lose. When the soldiers returned to camp, the elders of Israel asked, "Why did the LORD bring defeat upon us today before the Philistines? Let us bring the ark of the LORD's covenant from Shiloh, so that it may go with us and save us from the hand of our enemies." That's gonna work! COME ON! What's gotten into thier heads? Eli's two sons, were appointed to bring the Ark Of The Covenant onto the battle field. So once the Philistines found out they were sceered.
So the Philistines fought, and the Israelites were defeated and every man fled to his tent. The slaughter was very great; Israel lost thirty thousand foot soldiers. The ark of God was captured, and Eli's two sons, Hophni and Phinehas, died. Just as God said they would die. So a man fled from the battle feild and told the bad news. Eli asked: "What is the meaning of this uproar?"
The man hurried over to Eli, who was ninety-eight years old and whose eyes were set so that he could not see. He told Eli, "I have just come from the battle line; I fled from it this very day."
Eli asked, "What happened, my son?"

The man who brought the news replied, "Israel fled before the Philistines, and the army has suffered heavy losses. Also your two sons, Hophni and Phinehas, are dead, and the ark of God has been captured." Then Eli fell back in his chair, broke his neck, and died.

1st Samuel 2 and 3

Then Hannah prayed a thankful prayer to the Lord.
Eli had evil sons. His son's did really, REALLY, bad stuff. But Samuel was ministering before the LORD -a boy wearing a linen ephod. Each year his mother made him a little robe and took it to him when she went up with her husband to offer the annual sacrifice. Eli would bless Elkanah and his wife, saying, "May the LORD give you children by this woman to take the place of the one she prayed for and gave to the LORD." Then they would go home. And the LORD was gracious to Hannah; she conceived and gave birth to three sons and two daughters. Meanwhile, the boy Samuel grew up in the presence of the LORD. One day, an Angel came and said to Eli that his son's were wicked and their going to die on the same day. He also said that all his descendants will die when they're still young. Poor Eli. So a few days Later, God called Samuel while he was in his bed. So he went to Eli. "Did you call me?" "No" After this happened a few times, Eli Found out that it was God.So when God called again, Samuel said "Speak, for your servant is listening. God told him that all that was said about Eli would come true soon. Samuel was afraid to tell Eli. But Eli asked him and he told. Then Eli said, "He is the LORD; let him do what is good in his eyes." He takes that so well. But soon it became obvious that Samuel was Going to be the new preist.

1st Samuel!

Okay so whats happening here is here is a guy that has two wifes. One of them, just one, has kids. That one makes fun of poor Hannah, the other wife. One day while they had gone up to sacrifice offerings and stuff at Shiloh, Hannah prayed desperately that she would have a baby. Eli, the preist, saw her lips moving but no words coming out and he thought she was drunk. Then he said : "How long will you keep on getting drunk? Get rid of your wine."
"Not so, my lord," Hannah replied, "I am a woman who is deeply troubled. I have not been drinking wine or beer; I was pouring out my soul to the LORD. Do not take your servant for a wicked woman; I have been praying here out of my great anguish and grief." Then Eli said: Eli answered, "Go in peace, and may the God of Israel grant you what you have asked of him." So she did have a baby. So she named him Samuel and dedicated him to the Lord, then after he was weaned, she gave him over to Eli. She is good to her promise. We should be like that.

Halloween?

Today I wanted to talk about Halloween, since it's coming up. Our family had been talking about it and we've decided it's entirely evil. And that's why were not going to the Church Festival. Why? You ask. Maybe you dress up as a fireman and play in a bounce around and what's the harm in that? What happens when you get older and the fireman is 'lame'? You'll want to dress up as something scarier. My Mom used to be a fan of Halloween, and she's got big experience on it and how evil it really is. But don't ask me how she does. So this year, were not gonna even give trick-or-treat people candy. It's evil. Maybe a month ago, our pastor was talking about one of the Johns. In there it said: 'Do not let them even come into your house' Cuz your associating with evil.

Today, there was something really cunfuzuling in my bible. Okay, so Ruth's sleeping at Boazez field. I mean feet. So Bozo wakes up, and blesses and praises her, but here's the part I don't understand: And now, my daughter, don't be afraid. I will do for you all you ask. All my fellow townsmen know that you are a woman of noble character. Although it is true that I am near of kin, there is a kinsman-redeemer nearer than I. Stay here for the night, and in the morning if he wants to redeem, good; let him redeem. But if he is not willing, as surely as the LORD lives I will do it. Lie here until morning." what does he mean 'redeem'? Well when they got up, he gave her a scarf full of barlely and sent her to her mother. Then she told her everything that happened. Then Naomi said, "Wait, my daughter, until you find out what happens. For the man will not rest until the matter is settled today."
Meanwhile Boaz went up to the town gate and sat there. When the kinsman-redeemer he had mentioned came along, Boaz said, "Come over here, my friend, and sit down." So he went over and sat down. Well they chated a little about it and it turned out the man couldn't do it.
Then Boaz announced to the elders and all the people, "Today you are witnesses that I have bought from Naomi all the property of Elimelech, Kilion and Mahlon. 10 I have also acquired Ruth the Moabitess, Mahlon's widow, as my wife, in order to maintain the name of the dead with his property, so that his name will not disappear from among his family or from the town records. Today you are witnesses!" So, Ruth agreed with that last part right? And in the end, she had a little boy.

Ruth - again

"May I continue to find favor in your eyes, my lord," she said. "You have given me comfort and have spoken kindly to your servant—though I do not have the standing of one of your servant girls."
At mealtime Boaz said to her, "Come over here. Have some bread and dip it in the wine vinegar." When she sat down with the harvesters, he offered her some roasted grain. She ate all she wanted and had some left over. As she got up to glean, Boaz gave orders to his men, "Even if she gathers among the sheaves, don't embarrass her. Rather, pull out some stalks for her from the bundles and leave them for her to pick up, and don't rebuke her." He's hitin' on her. So Ruth gleaned in the field until evening. Then she threshed the barley she had gathered, and it amounted to about an ephah. She carried it back to town, and her mother-in-law saw how much she had gathered. Ruth also brought out and gave her what she had left over after she had eaten enough. She got to keep all that? Hmm. Her mother-in-law asked her, "Where did you glean today? Where did you work? Blessed be the man who took notice of you!" So Ruth told her all about Boaz. Naomi said "The LORD bless him!" Naomi said to her daughter-in-law. "He has not stopped showing his kindness to the living and the dead." She added, "That man is our close relative; he is one of our kinsman-redeemers."

"He even said to me, 'Stay with my workers until they finish harvesting all my grain.' "

Naomi said to Ruth, "It will be good for you, my daughter, to go with his girls, because in someone else's field you might be harmed."

So Ruth stayed close to the servant girls of Boaz to glean until the barley and wheat harvests were finished. And she lived with her mother-in-law.

Ruth

I'm in Ruth. The first part is where Naomi, with her husband and to sons go to Moab becuz a famine is in their land. Eventually, Her husband dies. Her sons get married to Moabite women and they die too. As in, the sons. When she heard the famine was gone, she started going with her two daughter-in-laws. But she said to them: "Return home, my daughters. Why would you come with me? Am I going to have any more sons, who could become your husbands? Return home, my daughters; I am too old to have another husband. Even if I thought there was still hope for me—even if I had a husband tonight and then gave birth to sons- would you wait until they grew up? Would you remain unmarried for them? No, my daughters. It is more bitter for me than for you, because the LORD's hand has gone out against me!" But they wouldn't leave. Eventually, Orpah left, but Ruth wouldn't. So she stayed and kept after Naomi. Faithful girl. I wish I was that faithful. So when they got to Bethlehem, Naomi got everybody to call her Mara, which means "gloomy." So later on Ruth went to glean. she just so happened to be gleaning boazes field, who was a relitive of Naomi. Just then Boaz arrived from Bethlehem and greeted the harvesters, "The LORD be with you!""The LORD bless you!" they called back. That must be a really nice greeting. We should do that. Then he spied Ruth. "Whose she?" He askes.
The foreman replied, "She is the Moabitess who came back from Moab with Naomi. She said, 'Please let me glean and gather among the sheaves behind the harvesters.' She went into the field and has worked steadily from morning till now, except for a short rest in the shelter." So he came to her and said for her to not go to glean in another field, follow along with my servant girls, the guys won't touch you, and you can have a drink whenever. At this, she bowed down with her face to the ground. She exclaimed, "Why have I found such favor in your eyes that you notice me—a foreigner?"
"I've heard how good you've been to your mother-in-law."
Olay, I know I'm kinda in the middle of it but that's it for today!

So much to post about. Or not as much as I think. Either one.

This weekend we did a lot of stuff. this is the soccer section:

  • Saturday was soccer game day. Sticks, Mom and a friend went to Boulder to play a game. He won 3 to 2. By the way, he scored two of them! Good job!

  • Dad coaches Fire, Jess's team. He scored a lot and so did every one else on his team. Most of them anyway. They got patches to iron onto their shirts for scoring or something else good. Cute. Your a good coach Dad. Good job Jess!

  • I'm not very interested in watching soccer games:(( But I love playing them. Even though watching J man juke people out of their shoes, I didn't watch all of it though. The babies were fussy cuz they hadn't been down for a nap the whole day. Luckily, mom came. They were still fussy though. But he won. Of course! Good job!

This is the other section:

We were going to have dinner with friends from our home school group at a park. We didn't know them very well. When we got there we unloaded and checked out the place. It was a great park. Complete with a mini football field. That was complete with field goals. Awesome.

They came! We had taken the flags to play flag football. After we ate, we played. Flag football that is. We kept on tying the game up until we tried field goals. We tied that up too. Eventually, my team lost. Oh well. It got dark, so after we ate some pie, we played kick ball. How appropriate. It was so dark we could barely see! The moms played too and the parents won. After that we went home.

This is the other other section:

This was Sunday. Mom had to stay home cuz of the babies. They were sick. And so were J man and Jess. I got Lane as a back-up bulletin passer-person to cover for J man. Since were members Meggy does the keyboard, Dad does the drums, Lane takes turns doing keyboard, sticks does waypiont, which is the controls to the big screen, I do bullietin passing out, and J man helps. Thats just about it!

Today

So far today:

  • Got up really early with Lane, ( Okay, it was 7:12 A.M) but still, it was dark and you would think it was six. I've somehow grown into the habit of waking up early. But anyway I did my bible time and get my chores done. We're supposed to do that before breakfast.
  • By then people started to get up. Since it was so dark no one thought it was time to get going!
  • Ate a simple breakfast of eggs.
  • Brushed me and Bird's teeth. Birdie is my new Buddie.
  • Morning meeting. That's when Mom tells us whats going on today, reads the Bible and maybe tell us some news we didn't know. By then it was 9:00.
  • Started to get my school done. Starting with math.
  • Later on in the day, Meggy and Mom went to lunch bunch. It's something that a few people participate with in church that they do every 1st Thursday of the month. Of course, they have lunch at a restaurant. Mom takes turns taking us.
  • They stayed a long time and I got done with school. Meanwhile, Lane got a call from mom saying to tell Me and sticks to get ready to go to a flea market. I had been waiting for this all week. So he and I waited in the garage for about 45 Min. Then Lane came saying they were on their way. "You said that 45 min. ago!" We thought. They came to pick us up. We drove up there. That was a flea market you had to flee! They had some naughty things there. Big disappiontment. I love garage sales! Oh well.

It's over. - Not a bad thing.

Oral reports are done, for now. I think I have to do another one. *GULP* I hope not. Well, from what people said I did good. WHEW. I'm happy. :D

Saturday, August 30, 2008

Cool (and nervousing) stuff

  1. First, I want to talk about oral reports. Some kind of scary speech you'll have to do in front of everybody. sheebilees. All of the kids in our Family (and probably the whole home school group) don't want to do it."It'll be fun!" parents say. YEAH RIGHT!!! (Was that disrespectful?) Anyway, I'll probably get used to it after I do it once or twice. Yes, we have to do it more than once.
  2. New jurisdictions. I've got tea.You might not think it so bad except for the fact you have to decide what were having, Make it, witch isn't so bad, set it on the table, then clean it up.Wow. It makes me want to do something sloppy so I won't have to do dishes. But the other side of me tells me "NO! Make it nice and fancy" That side usually gets me. By the way, that's not the only thing I've got I just don't want to talk about the rest right now.
  3. Company. Someone from our church is here right now. He came over for dinner because his wife's gone to Florida because of a funeral. Speaking of Church, I pass out fliers! I kind of feel sorry for the older people cuz they have to find were I am, maybe even walk across the church to get some extra for others. Aww

Soccer

Soccer is an all-time favorite in our house. When Dad comes home for lunch and still has time before he leaves, we play soccer in the street. We also do it after dad's home and we've eaten.

Usual teams:
1st team: Dad Lane and I
2nd team: Sticks, J man and Jess.
Well, yesterday we switched the teams up. I didn't like the idea, but oh well. Lane Sticks and I last both games. Too bad! I see the little boys improving every day! Good job, boys!

It's back!

There was this small snake in our back yard. It lived in a crack that no one ever payed attention to. But one day, J man decided to look down that crack. All of a sudden we hear a "Guys! Look! Over here! It's a snake!" We all ran over there, and sure enough, there was a snake. Well, later he had the idea that it was poisonous. So he would check that crack every day. Then again, we hear a " Guys! Come! I got it!" We run over there and see the snake, trapped under a pole. Poor guy! then, j man lets it out. I, coming to the conclusion that it was poisonous also, Grabbed the pole and trapped it again. After Lane took it off, I saw what I did. I started to feel sad when it never came back. But just earlier today Jess yell"guys, the snake is back!" Thank you LORD.

favorites

  1. The little boy's favorite thing is robots. They dream about making them and use whatever dad says they can in the garage to do it. J dude got a water-powered robotic arm that can pick something up when you control it for his tooth-fairy present. They also beg me to rent a book that tells you how to make a robot when we go to the library.
  2. Bird's favorite thing is dolls I guess. When she got one for her birthday she called it "that one" and she still calls it that.
  3. Froggy's favorite thing is books.
  4. Lane's favorite thing is crochet - I think.
  5. Sticks favorite thing is?????
  6. Meggy's favorite thing is either reading books, cheking blogs, or listening to music.
  7. I don't know what Mom's or Dad's is.

Luke

After Jesus was baptized, He taught us a very good lesson by being tempted. He used scripture so well that satan didn't even have the guts to talk back, but he only went on with the next temptation. If only we could learn to practice and do that against all the temptatoins in the world. Then, he goes preaching, healing, and talking demons out of people! God rocks!!!

Isaiah

Well, right now Gods really upset with Zion, Assyria. I think we should all learn a lesson from their destruction. Our culture is full of liairs and theifs and a lot of stuff those people got punished for! Yikes! We need to really change! If only we were better than we are now.

Thursday, August 7, 2008

This was Davids Psalm, when he was running away from his son, Absalom. I really don't remember that. But anyway, He asks the Lord for help, and then says how much he did! David is an awesome guy, I think. In the next Psalm I read, David is giving others good advice such as: "In your anger do not sin." and things like that. In the next Psalm David asked God to declare his enemies guilty and how you can't trust them. Isn't that like tatle taling to a God that already knows?

Wednesday, August 6, 2008

Joshua finally defeated Jericho! With, of course, GODS help. I think Joshua's my favorite person in the Bible. I like how the people listened to him when he said what would seem like the craziest stuff ever. One thing that I don't know about, Rahab and her family was saved when the walls fell down. How? the walls fell down. And then they went in and saved her. I wonder.

Exodus

Today I read about poor Pharaoh to day. He wouldn't let the people go. Oh well. It was Gods will that all the plagues came. I really like the part where Mosses's snake at all the rest. I think Moses was very faithful to the end. He had faith in God when every one else practically didn't, he persevered when even his own people mocked him! And even after they were brought out of Egypt, they still griped and grumbled all day! God really blessed him!

Why?

A miscarriage. Why? What's Gods plan ? Is he trying to test us? Unfortunately, we don't always know Gods plan is for us. All you can do is trust in Him. "Delight your self in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your was to the Lord; trust in him and he will act."

Genisis - again

When Eve gave birth to Cain and Abel they grew up and had jobs. Now Cain owned a garden and Abel owned a herd of sheep. When it was time to give the offering, Abel made an offering of a lamb, and Cain made an offering of his first fruits. This was probably a big basket of all his best fruits and veggies all organized up pretty. But when God was angry, he was angrier. So out of his anger he killed his brother. I think from what he said,he was never even sorry that he killed his brother: "I don' know, am I my brothers keeper?" and: " This punishment is more than I can bear!" I think he was more worried about himself. So he wandered of and built a city. and his kid's had kids and they had kids and on and on and on all the way down to Noah. My bible isn't very detailed on that story.

Matthew

Today I read in Matthew. The birth of Jesus was not very detailed. But what I liked about it was that when the birth of Jesus happened, the escape from Herod, and the return to Nazareth, that all fulfilled 3 or 4 prophecies

please pray hard. The doctors think that theres a small chance of our new baby surviving! we'll know this monday.

Vacation is fun

last week we had a week and half of vacation. Grandma and grandpa came to Colorado springs in there motor home, A.K.A the BIG BEAUTIFUL Awesomest motor home in the WORLD!!! The first day we came, hung out and talked and explored. Since it was a forest made of pine trees so there were a lot of pine cones on the ground. A lot. Our cousins were there too. Mason, the oldest is 16, and Tate is 11, I think, and Chloe is 6. Well, C.T and Tate found their base and J.Dude, J.Man and I found ours. Then the pine cone wars began! Oh it was fun! The other boys were both gone for some reason. I think they were inside. But When it was time to go home, C.T and I asked If we could stay. Dad promised us that we could tomorrow if it was okay with Grandma, witch of course, it was. So the next day, I packed my 1 foot long bag with a blanket, extra clothes, a pair of shoes, my comic bible, a tooth brush tooth paste, a hair brush, my contact case, solution etc. etc. then, we came to the woods, made our base a little stronger, came back out of the woods and talked for a while. Then, aunt Mitch asked us if we wanted to go to the ditch. so we all went to the ditch. A dried up stream that you could slide down on your feet. It was super except for the for the fact that it was really hard to get up cuz it was so slippery.

I'm getting kind of mixed up with when things started so It's not going to be exactly how it really was. Well they all wen to garden of the gods while Bird, Baby Z. Grandma and I stayed home.when they all came back Mom said "Next time we go with the Wingcuzins, your going." But dad said "you didn't miss much, just a bunch of big rocks."

The sleep over was really fun. But Tate got to come too. I feel uncomfortable sleeping with two boys. Now you must under stand,we were all dirty and gross but that was soon changed. Grandma told us all exactly how to use the shower and what everything was. C.T went first. Then Tate. Then me. It was a great shower. You could take down the sprayer and spray yourself. Then when we were all in our beds we watched book of secrets till midnight accidentally.

In the morning, we drove an hour all the way back to our house to get Lane so we could go to the hair salon. Turned out she changed her mind. Oh well. So I got my hair cut shoulder length and highlighted it. It was free cuz my great aunt owns it. Cloe went to and she wanted to get her highlights blue! Aunt Mitch said no but she was allowed to have one light blue strip of fake hair. It looks cute! Grandma and Aunt Mitch got their hair cuts too!

The next day it was decided that we would go rafting! We all loaded onto the bus while the guy told us what we were supposed to do. Then we got out. our guide told us places to sit and C.T and Tate volunteered to go in the front and I was the only one that didn't have to row and I got to sit in the middle of the front row. We moved into the rapids and the waves got rough! Aunt Mitch wore a splash jacket and was pretty upset when she got wet! When we got out of the rapids we almost tipped a couple times and as we moved past a big rock, the guide jumped of the boat onto the rock and into the water! It was funny. Grandpa was challenged to sit at the very edge in the front of the boat. He did, and after a while Aunt Mitch pushed him off!

Later, as in a couple of days later, Grandma wanted to take us to water world! But after dad gave us the reasons why not, we went to the Zoo instead. the Zoo,was a really close, really fun place to go to. It even had ant eaters, gonc, (Jess's word for a pelican) Penguins, black bears, brown bears, lemurs, and all sorts of things!
That night, or I think that night, they had to leave. *sniff* But vacatoin is fun.

Isaiah

DESTRUCTION ON ZION!!! Isaiah talks about how Zion is an evil place and how it will be destroyed and then made holy. Something I like about it, they used Sodom and Gomorrah as examples of what they are doing and how they will be destroyed. Wow!!! I wonderhow he knew about that? thats funny!

Job

I read about what A healthy, rich man Job was. Then, when angels were coming to see God, the devil came too! Why? I thought he was never allowed to come in heaven! But after he talked Jesus into being men to Job I bet he was pretty upset when Job didn't curse God! Then he came in again and God bragged on how good Job was being about it. So the devil walked out again getting what he wanted and sending terrible soars everywhere! But he didn't curse God!! Poor guy!

Psalms

I read in Psalm 1 and 2. "blessed is the man who does not walk in the council of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers. But his delight is in the law of the Lord." Wow! Don't do all these thing but do one thing and you'll be blessed! Next it says: "The kings of the earth gather together against the Lord!" That's an abomination to God! but then it say He scoffs at them, and terrifies them with His wrath. Huzzah!

Joshua

I read in Joshua to day and it talked about the spies that came to spy out the land. it says they came to a prostitute, or an innkeeper. And she hid them. Why? Did she have the plan of saving her family all along? When they made the deal with her and told her to tie the scarlet chord that she let them down with on her window why didn't the people that were searching for the men see the chord and suspect her of letting them go?

Then, I read about how God lifted Joshua up and led them across the Jordan on dry ground. I think God shouldn't have to lift him up to show the people that they can listen to don't ya think?

New Bible stuff

I decided to start reading my Bible all over again using a Bible reading planer that Meggy gave me. As you probably know, it starts out with "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth"you think "Wow! He created everything-even us-and we still disobey him all the time! Then, when the serpent came to Eve he said "Did God really say that you can't eat from any tree in the garden?" Firstly, he shouldn't be talking at all! Secondly, when God found that they were sinful, Adam said "The woman you gave to me, she gave me some fruit and I ate." I think it was almost completely his fault that either of them ate it. Sure, Eve shouldn't of listened to the serpent in the first place, BUT..... According to my Bible it said that Eve ate the fruit and gave some to her husband who just so happend to be right there! If he had only stopped her.*Sigh*

I'm finally in Deuteronomy! Moses is telling the Israelites about what happened earlier in Numbers. I wonder why he had to tell the people these things. Is it very important? Why do they need to remember it? Does it have anything to do with our lives? Moses talked about all the wars and how know one could stop them. And every thing all over again!

Soccer camp

Soccer camp is a camp at my dads work place. It's coached by what used to be the COLORADO RAPIDS GOAL KEEPER!!!!! I got his autograph! We were always the first ones there so we warmed up. Then, when people started coming, we would warm up more. After an hour and a half, we would go into the locker room and talk about GOD. Afterwards would talk about the memory verse they gave us the day before. We would go out again and do scrimagesand things until Dad came to pick us up. It was fun.

?????

"On the plains of Moab by the Jordan across from Jericho, the Lord said to Moses, 'command the Israelites to give the Levites towns to live in from the inheritance the Israelites will posses. and give them pasture lands around the towns. Then they will have towns to live in and pasture lands for their cattle, flocks, and other livestock." Numbers 35: 1-3 I don't get that at all!

After the forty years had passed, the Israelites continued to make their journey to the promised land. I think they were probably mad that they couldn't come to the promised land sooner because of their parents. they probably had to pray to God and ask him to not harbor anger in their hearts. I know I probably would have to! God told them to basically plow through the land defeating any cities in their path. I wonder if any of them died, or if it was just their job to do it happily.

New blogger

Click here to Go to C.Ts blog! amazinaintit.blogspot.com
First in my bible, I read about vows. "If a man makes a vow to God or takes an oath to obligate himself by a pledge, He must not break his word but must do everything he said." and so on. Next I read about how the Israelites defeat the Midianites! Moses told the people to gather 1,000 men from each tribe that could fight in the army. 12,000 men won the battle. next, they had to divide the plunder. there was about a million goats and sheep and gold and women. Then I read about the Rubenites and the Gadites saw lots of good land and told Mosesthat they wanted to go to that land instead!! I did'nt realize it until Moses said that that was the exact thing that thier fathers did when they had to wander in the desert!

read about all the organizations in my Bible -again. In my school I have a book called early history of Israel and I'm reading it in the same place as I'm reading my Bible! So it seems like I'm reading everything twice! Gods really organized if you think about it! And I think Moses rocks! I mean, god's telling him millions of thins and then he goes of and tells the people Exactly what he said!!!I tried to say a part that goes like this:"on the third day prepare eleven bulls, two rams and fourteen male lambs a year old without defect." now turn around in your chair and say it. Is it hard? Now imagine trying to talk about vows and the feast of weeks and the feast of trumpets and the day of atonement and the feast of Tabernacles etc etc! God must him out!

More Bible news

It was funny how all of the Israelites that came out of Egypt never came to the promised land except for Caleb and Joshua. After after the plague, God told Moses and Eleazar to Count all of the children Of Israel that are twenty years older or more that are able to serve in the army. after that count there were 601,730 men and none who were going to die in the desert. WHOA!!!!!That's allot of men not even including women and children! That must have been hard to lead the people. Moses had allot of faith and allot of responsibility!

Bible news

I read about the Israelites today. They had camped at the wastelands of Moab. but Balak, king of Moab got angry and had sent for baalam saying: "I know who you bless is blessed and who you curse is cursed." Baalam came, and said: "Can I say just anything? I will say what God puts in my mouth." so Baalam didn't curse the Israelites, but instead, he blessed them! Not only did he bless them once, but he blessed them about three other times as well! He went on to say that they would destroy many other countries!!! WOW!!! I think He's very faithful to the Lord! Next, I read about the Israelites committing adultery with the Moabite women. God sent a plague on them for it. Then a young man married a Midainite woman in front of Moses and the whole assembly of Israel. Eleazar son of Aaron killed both of them with a spear and the plague stopped. Man, I was thinking ,If 24,000 people already died from the plague,Imagine if that man had gotten away with it! The whole assembly might have been killed cause of that one man and his wife didn't repent.

cool stuff

Had Popsicles yesterday. As I took mine outside, Froggy followed me the whole way until I got to the door, whining and acting all pitiful. Mom said I could take him outside and share my Popsicle. After I found out that he couldn't bite my roundish Popsicle very well, I got him one that fit in his mouth better. Since Lane was done with her Popsicle, she helped him eat it. He would suck all the juice out and leave lane to eat the ice, occasionally leaving presents of slobber or who knows what there! Before that we had a normal school day. until C.T said he had seen a park while running with mom. Mom said we could if we did still did all our school. so we hurried and ate lunch then we went to the park . It was a really long walk since C.T and Mom kept finding dead-end short-cuts! when we got to the park, we had a realy fun time. Each of the big kids took Froggers down asteep silde and he gigled the whole way.

snow

Lots of good snow, it's been snowing all morning. The Boys played out side while I was doing school. Bird went outside too, for about 5 minutes then she went inside & had a cup of hot chocolate. She spilled a little bit of it. Lots of sledding with the other boys. They also did some snowball fights and sword fights with big sticks. Mafee accidentally did a snow angel in some dog poop, YUCK! Later I gave Jess and mafee some hot chocolate outside. Apparently Mafee was going in and completely forgot about his order for hot chocolate, he ran into the hot chocolate cup and spilled some onto his head and on the floor. I had to clean it up. Hopefully I'll get to play in the snow too!

happy birthday to Meggy!!!

it's Meggy's B/day!!! Last night Meggy was on the computer upstairs while we made preparations downstairs. Jess made the idea of cutting little paper triangles with punched holes in them to string and hang up. Every body liked it and were gonna do it on the next birthday too! He also liked to blow up balloons with the balloon-blower-upper or what ever it's called. We also went to the store and was thinking about buying her some weights. It didn't work out but we bought and bought her a really cool thing that's twenty times better. I can't tell what it is until Meggy posts about it but it's great.

Happy birth day Meg!
