The idols of the nations are silver and gold, made by the hands of men. They have mouths, but cannot speak, eyes, but they cannot see; they have ears, but cannot hear, nor is there breath in their mouths. Those who make them will be like them, and so will all who trust in them.

What does it mean when it says, 'Those who make them will be like them, and so will all who trust in them'? I have no clue.

I think Isaiah 6:9 speaks to this...

"Be ever hearing, but never understanding; be ever seeing but never perceiving."

God sent Isaiah to give a message of judgment to Judah and to tell of salvation through Christ. In this particular section he is addressing what will happen to those caught in various sins (idolatry).
